We have nine exciting new lunch entrees for the upcoming school year to add even more variety to your child’s school lunch. Our recipes span the globe from Italy, France and Greece in Europe, to China, Vietnam, Korea and India in Asia, and finally to North America. Enjoy!

  • Meatless Mondays once a month, designated in the calendar by a green-bordered box.

  • All Burgers, Nacho Beef, Meatballs, and Bone-in Chicken are local and free of hormones and antibiotics.

  • Gluten-free items, and items that can be gluten free without the bun, are designated in the menu with GF, Hormone- and Antibiotic-Free Meats are designated with ABF, and Nitrate and Nitrite Free hotdogs are designated with NNF.

  • Salad Bar offerings are completely gluten free, including dressings and composed salads, with gluten-free sliced bread from Canyon Bakehouse available upon request.

  • All-Beef Hot Dog - This is not the hot dog you grew up eating! Hormone- and antibiotic-free, nitrate- and nitrite-free, all-beef hot dog served on a fluffy, whole grain bun.

  • Baja Fish Tacos* - Make lunch feel like a day at the beach with our Baja Fish Tacos. Breaded fish on whole grain rich soft taco shells are topped with a tangy slaw.

  • Banh Mi Sandwich* - A Vietnamese-style pork and veggie sandwich served on a whole grain baguette.  

  • BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich - Mouthwatering, BBQ pulled pork on a fluffy, whole grain bun.

  • Bean Nachos with Cheese Sauce - Hand-mashed pinto beans and our delicious housemade cheese sauce or shredded cheddar on whole grain, non-GMO corn tortilla chips.

  • Beef Soft Tacos with Housemade Salsa - Tender, hormone and antibiotic free beef is cradled in a soft, whole grain tortilla accompanied by our fresh salsa made from scratch in our BVSD kitchens.

  • Buffalo Chicken Sliders* - Fluffy, whole grain slider buns piled high with tangy Buffalo-style chicken strips.

  • Casey/Summit Chicken and Waffles - Our 2017 Iron Chef second place. A southern-style meal featuring hormone- and antibiotic-free chicken thighs, breaded in house and served on a whole grain waffle with a sweet, tangy sauce.  Kid tested, Chef Ann approved!

  • Centennial Chicken Street Taco - A former Iron Chef winner and current fan favorite. Mexican-style chicken breast and traditionally spiced black beans served on a warm, locally made, whole grain tortilla.

  • Cheese Calzone - Folded-over pizza pocket, with fresh, housemade tomato sauce and low-fat mozzarella baked into a delicious, whole grain rich calzone dough.

  • Cheese Pizza - A healthier version of restaurant pizza. Whole grain rich pizza crust seasoned with olive oil and herbs, topped with low-fat mozzarella cheese.

  • Cheese Ravioli & Garlic Bread - Mozzarella cheese-stuffed pasta pillows smothered in our fresh, housemade tomato sauce with a side of freshly baked garlic bread.  

  • Cheeseburger (with SFP Secret Sauce*) - Locally raised, hormone- and antibiotic-free, all-beef hamburger patties from Legacy Meats (Kersey, CO), topped with cheddar cheese, and at the secondary level, served with the School Food Project’s Secret Sauce, on a fluffy, whole grain bun from Wheat Montana bakery.

  • Chicken Burrito - Mexican-style chicken, chipotle peppers, cheese, beans and rice hand-wrapped in a locally made, whole grain rich tortilla. Always a great choice.

  • Chicken Potstickers with Fried Rice - Professionally-made Chinese dumplings, from Whole Fresh Foods in Denver, stuffed with chicken and vegetables served with our homemade black pearl fried rice.

  • Chicken Quesadilla - Chicken and shredded cheddar cheese melted to perfection between two locally-made, whole grain tortillas.

  • Chicken Ramen Bowl* - The newest trend in Asian street food. Traditional-style ramen noodles, loaded with chicken and vegetables, topped with our housemade broth. Way better than what you survived on in college!

  • Chicken Strips with Dipping Sauce & Dinner Roll - Hand-breaded, hormone- and antibiotic-free chicken tenders, served with our housemade sweet and sour sauce and a warm whole grain dinner roll from Wheat Montana Bakery.

  • Chicken Tikka Tacos* - Tender chicken cooked in a creamy yogurt and tomato sauce with mild Indian spices, served on soft whole-grain rich flour tortillas with seasoned cauliflower and cilantro. 

  • Chickpea Masala with Flatbread - Our newest vegan dish. Garbanzo beans, roasted tomatoes, and spinach in a blend of mild Indian spices, served with a warm piece of flatbread.

  • Chili Smothered Baked Potato with Biscuit - Another fantastic vegetarian choice! Our baked potatoes are smothered in a vegetarian chili with mild spices. Shredded cheddar cheese on top is optional.  Vegan version available.  

  • Crispy Chicken Filet Sandwich - Crispy, baked, hormone- and antibiotic-free chicken thighs, breaded in house and served on a fluffy, whole grain bun from Wheat Montana Bakery.

  • Falafel and Hummus Flatbread with Creamy Cucumbers - In the spirit of plant forward recipes, this is a delicious vegetarian option with a Mediterranean twist. Protein-packed falafels sit atop a lightly crisped, whole grain rich flatbread drizzled with a creamy cucumber sauce. 

  • Fireside Broccoli Cheese Stuffed Potato with Biscuit - A former Iron Chef winning recipe. Locally-sourced yellow potatoes stuffed with broccoli and cheddar cheese, served with a whole grain rich biscuit.

  • French Toast Casserole with Turkey Sausage and Berry Sauce - Kids LOVE eating breakfast for lunch and we sneakily made this classic recipe healthier by using soft, whole-grain bread from Wheat Montana bakery. Our sweet, cinnamon french toast is accompanied by our housemade, real blueberry sauce and a protein-packed turkey sausage.  

  • Green Chili and Cheese Tamale - Authentic tamales handmade just for us right here in Colorado by La Casita. Enjoy this traditional Mexican Christmas dish year-round in our cafeterias.

  • Hamburger - Locally-raised, hormone- and antibiotic-free, all-beef hamburger patties from Legacy Meats (Kersey, CO) served on a fluffy, whole grain bun from Wheat Montana Bakery.

  • Hot Italian Hoagie* - Handmade, melty deliciousness! A whole grain hoagie bun layered with ham, pepperoni and provolone, topped with pepperoncini and roasted red peppers. 

  • Korean BBQ Turkey Sliders* - Tangy, Korean-style BBQ turkey on fluffy, whole grain slider buns from Wheat Montana Bakery.

  • Macaroni & Cheese - Whole grain rich macaroni smothered in our delicious homemade cheese sauce and shredded cheddar. Comfort food at its best! 

  • Meat Lovers Lasagna* - Layers of whole grain rich pasta, hormone and antibiotic free ground beef and pork sausage with housemade tomato sauce combine to make a powerhouse Italian lunch.

  • Meatball Sub - Hormone- and antibiotic-free, all beef meatballs mixed into housemade marinara sauce served on a fluffy, whole grain bun topped with melty mozzarella cheese.

  • Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich* - If you love hot wings, you are going to love our Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich. Spicy, hormone- and antibiotic-free, breaded chicken is cradled on a fluffy bun from Wheat Montana. We are not going to lie, this is the spiciest dish on our menu!

  • Oven Fried Chicken with Brown Rice - Hand-breaded, hormone- and antibiotic-free chicken baked to crispy southern perfection, served with a side of brown rice.

  • Oven Roast Chicken with Brown Rice - Locally-raised, hormone- and antibiotic-free chicken, seasoned with salt and pepper and baked to perfection, served with a side of brown rice.

  • Pasta Alfredo - Whole grain rich penne pasta with zucchini and broccoli, covered in our creamy and delicious, housemade alfredo sauce.

  • Pepperoni Pizza - A healthy spin on your typical pizza recipe. Whole grain rich pizza crust seasoned with olive oil and herbs, topped with low-fat mozzarella cheese and nitrate- and nitrite-free pepperoni.

  • Pesto Pizza - Our healthier pizza recipe taken up a notch. Whole grain rich pizza crust seasoned with olive oil and herbs, topped with low-fat mozzarella cheese, zesty basil pesto and fresh sliced tomatoes.

  • Pork Green Chili Burrito* - Juicy braised pork and Colorado green chiles wrapped into a locally-made whole grain tortilla. Mild and delicious.

  • Red Pork Tamales* - Authentic red chile and pork stuffed masa corn tamales, made fresh just for BVSD by La Casita of Denver.

  • Roast Turkey Dinner with Mashed Potatoes, Gravy & Dinner Roll - Roasted, hormone- and antibiotic-free white and dark meat turkey, served with housemade mashed potatoes and a warm whole grain dinner roll. Wholesome, comfort food that kids love.

  • Shredded Pork Soft Taco - Braised, shredded pork, served with a tangy coleslaw and creamy poblano sauce, on a warm, locally-made whole grain flour tortilla.

  • Southwest Chicken Quinoa Protein Bowl* - Talk about a brain boosting lunch, this bowl is packed with protein from our slow cooked chicken with southwestern spices atop a bed of protein-rich quinoa and garnished with a dollop of creamy yogurt.

  • Spaghetti Marinara - Fresh, homemade tomato sauce served over whole grain spaghetti. 

  • Spaghetti Marinara and Meatballs - Fresh, homemade tomato sauce served over whole grain spaghetti with hormone- and antibiotic-free, all-beef meatballs

  • Spicy Beef and Sausage Penne with Garlic Bread* - Hormone- and antibiotic-free, local beef and locally-produced spicy sausage mixed with penne pasta and our homemade marinara sauce, served with freshly baked garlic bread.

  • Spicy Sausage Sandwich with Peppers & Onions* - Locally-made, Italian-style sausage served on a fluffy, whole grain bun with caramelized bell peppers and onions.

  • Taco Salad* - Locally raised, hormone- and antibiotic-free beef or hand-mashed pinto beans and our delicious homemade cheese sauce or shredded cheddar on a bed of fresh lettuce.

  • Toasted Cheese Sandwich - A simple and delicious sandwich with melted cheddar on freshly toasted, whole grain bread.

  • Toasted Cheese and Bacon Sandwich* - Melted cheddar and nitrate- and nitrite-free bacon on freshly toasted, whole grain bread.

  • Tofu Bibimbap - A taste of Korean Street food. Tofu, vegetables and rice seasoned with Korean-style flavors and served with kimchi. If your kids like fried rice, they will love this dish.

  • Tomato Bisque with Toasted Cheese Sandwich* - Our 2018 Iron Chef winning recipe is a fancier take on a classic grilled cheese and tomato soup lunch. With pureed garbanzo beans in the soup, this lunch will provide plenty of protein to muscle kids through their afternoon classes and after school activities.  Comfort food and delicious!

  • Turkey & Cheese Croissant* - Nitrate- and nitrite-free sliced turkey and melted cheddar cheese served on a flaky, buttery whole grain rich croissant.

  • Turkey Bacon Bagel Sandwich* - Nitrate- and nitrite-free sliced turkey and bacon on whole grain bagels baked in Boulder at the famous Moe’s Bagels.

  • Veggie Burrito - Mexican-style pinto beans, corn, chipotle peppers, cheese, and brown rice hand-wrapped in a locally made, whole grain rich tortilla.

  • Veggie Cheese Flatbread - The fancy sister to pizza. A whole grain flatbread layered with low-fat mozzarella cheese, feta cheese, roasted red peppers and zucchini squash.

  • Veggie Enchiladas - Hand-rolled enchiladas stuffed with black beans, sweet potatoes, and poblano peppers, smothered in traditional enchilada sauce and sprinkled with cheese.

  • Veggie Quesadilla - Fresh roasted vegetables and shredded cheddar cheese melted to perfection between two locally-made, whole grain tortillas.

  • Veggie Ramen with Tofu and Edamame* - Last year we introduced our chicken ramen bowl and it was such a hit that we invented a vegetarian version for this year. Loaded with colorful vegetables and a savory broth over whole grain rich noodles this is sure to be another hit. Umami at its best!
